Free PDF's from Lark Books

Good Evening everyone! Two great free project pdf’s are available from Lark Books on their blog site. They are from the new book Making Wire and Bead Jewelry: Artful Wirework Techniques, by Janice Berkebile and Tracey Stanley. I love Lark Books and all of the creative energy they bring to their blog. There’s always something new going on and they are so generous with offering project pdf’s from their current book selections. I’d love to tour those offices during one of my Asheville trips to soak up some high spirited book energy. This is a blog everyone needs on their daily reading list.

And did I mention Lark's last post on summer desserts? No?….OMG, they had a S’mores recipe that you can do on the grill. What family wouldn’t love that after a great evening cookout. It sounds like a memory in the making.

Welcome to the third of the “Great Lark Pay it forward Book Giveaways”. Around Christmas of 2011 I was lucky enough to win a selection of 21 of the best beading books ever published by Sterling Publishing. Two boxes full of books arrived and I have felt like a princess ever since. Some of the books were duplications of books I have already purchased. Yes, I can be called, the book hog, the librarian, the hoarder of all things written about craft. It is what it is and I won’t apologize for having the greatest library of inspiration anyone could hope for. This doesn’t even include the hundred books I gave to an old friend for school library on watercolor painting, oil painting, and who can remember what else.

This is book is from Laura McCabe. Now Laura is one of the premier artisits who’s work I seek out at every Bead and Button. Her booth reflects her aesthetic all the way down to how she packages her kits. And her creative work – it beats to the sound of a different drummer and no surgeon could possibly do better work than her with a needle. They’re sumptuous.

First Great Inspiration Giveaway

Look at the beaded piece on the cover of this book - it's the great work of Robin Atkin's. It was her book One Bead at a Time (now out of print) that first piqued my interest in bead embroidery.

500 Beaded Objects is one of the books I received in the Lark Book giveaway. It's a great book but I already have a copy. I use it all the time for inspiration - it's just supercharged!
